Explorer Scouts - The full story
Age:
Explorer Scouts are young people aged 14 - 18 years of age, we are the second oldest section of the Scout movement.
Our place in the Scouting Family Tree:
We are a district unit and work with all the groups within Southport district
When we meet:
We meet for approximately 1 ½ hours a week depending on the particular activities. We have two units in Southport, one of which is Air Explorer Scouts and there is something on each week to suit all.
The Unit Programme
The Explorer Scouts set a 12 week structured programme, with the help of an Explorer Scout Leader. Explorer Scout meetings are always fun packed, fast moving evenings. As well at the same time developing skills for life.
The Leaders encourage Explorer Scouts to make suggestions for activities and make time to share their news and views. They accept Explorer Scouts as they are, celebrating their achievements and emerging talents, supporting their weaknesses and needs.
