Scouting has been alive and well in Southport right back to the beginning of Scouting, but much of the District Archive was lost in the fires at the District Headquarters. However, the excellent work by the late Ken Whitehead over the years has compiled a great account of Scouting in Southport, and the people associated with it. The History is available as a CD-rom for a nominal charge (£3.00) from Nick Morris.
